KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and South Africa have agreed to revitalise and strengthen their bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors following an official visit by South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa to Malaysia.
The visit, held from Oct 24 to 27 in conjunction with the 47th Asean Summit, marked Ramaphosa’s first official trip to Malaysia since assuming office in 2018.
He was received by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and accorded an official welcome at Perdana Square, Putrajaya, on Friday.
A joint statement by Malaysia and South Africa said both leaders held discussions to review the state of bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
