GEORGE TOWN: Flood victims in Penang have surpassed the 1,000 mark.
As at 11.15pm, the state has 1,018 flood victims housed in seven temporary flood relief centres, based on information obtained from Info Bencana JKM website.
The flood victims are from 276 families. The number of flood victims in the Seberang Prai Utara district continued to soar with 776 people from 211 families.
The Seberang Prai Tengah district saw 210 people from 55 families.
Meanwhile, in the southwest district, 32 flood victims from 10 families housed at a temporary flood relief centre.
Meanwhile, the state Public Works Department, on its social media page, said there is flooding on Jalan Paya Keladi in Seberang Prai Utara.
It said a 100-metre stretch remains under 0.15 metre of floodwater amid ongoing rain, leaving only one side passable. — BERNAMA
