Three men aged 22 to 69 arrested after brawl over woman

SHAH ALAM: A fight involving four men by the roadside in Setia Alam yesterday is believed to have been sparked by a dispute over a woman.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident, which occurred at 3.51pm, was captured on video by members of the public who happened to be at the scene.

He said acting on information, police arrested two local men, aged 69 and 44, in the compound of the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD).

Mohd Iqbal said police later arrested a 22-year-old man in Kapar, Klang, while efforts are ongoing to locate another suspect still at large.

Police also seized a 36-inch wooden stick found by the roadside in Setia Alam after being led there by the two suspects.

Investigations revealed that the fight was triggered by jealousy and a dispute over a girlfriend.

All three suspects have been remanded for two days to assist in the investigation, which is being conducted under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons.
