KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 — Police have yet to receive the chemistry report on the liquid used against the son of Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli following the August 31 attack.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail updates on the investigation will be provided once there are further developments.
“So far, the report has not been released,” he told a news conference at the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman today.
The country’s top policeman was asked for updates about the unknown liquid splashed on the 12-year-old boy at a Putrajaya mall car park 54 days ago.
Rafizi, who is also the former economy minister, previously linked the attack on his son to a warning to watch out as he was involved in a potential new scandal.
At the same news conference, Mohd Khalid also confirmed that the global hunt for Malaysia’s most wanted man Jho Low is still active.
He said the authorities are still searching for the Penang-born businessman suspected of being the mastermind behind the 1MDB financial scandal.
He declined to share details, citing case sensitivity.
“The investigation is still active. I don’t think it’s appropriate for us to discuss this matter openly as actions are still ongoing,” he said.
Low has been on the wanted list since leaving the country in 2015.
His exact whereabouts are unknown, with occasional speculation but no confirmed sightings to date.
