KUALA LUMPUR: The police have yet to receive the full chemical report on the substance used in the attack on Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli’s son, says Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.

“We have yet to receive the report as of Friday (Oct 24),” he said, adding that the police would keep the public updated on the case.

Previously, authorities confirmed that the son of the former deputy president was jabbed with a syringe containing an unknown substance in an attack which occurred around 2pm on Aug 13 at a shopping mall in .

In an unrelated matter, the IGP said he supported plans to station police officers at schools as an additional security measure following an increase in violent incidents involving students.

“There are around 9,000 schools in the country, all of which already have an officer attached. We will strengthen the existing synergy (between the police and educational institutions).

“I have told all state police chiefs that patrol cars can enter schools to check on matters, even if it is only for a few minutes,” he said.
