In case you didn’t know, Huawei also makes EV chargers and Energy Storage Systems under its Digital Power business unit. While their ultra-fast DC chargers are mostly found in mainland China, their EV charging solutions are also being deployed globally which now also includes Malaysia.
Recently, we managed to spot a newly deployed Huawei FusionCharge EV charging solution in Kuala Lumpur. These are liquid cooled ultra-fast DC chargers capable of rapid charging up to 480kW. With a compatible EV, these chargers can provide up to 200km of range with a quick 5-minute top up.
We still don’t know who is the Charge Point Operator (CPO) behind this deployment but this is a sign that Huawei is making its entry into Malaysia’s public EV charging infrastructure market.

The chargers with a total of 3 nozzles were spotted in the compounds of MRCB’s Property Gallery at KL Sentral. It features a liquid-cooled power cabinet that supports a maximum output of 720kW and a maximum charging current of 500A.
The red terminal is a liquid-cooled unit that can offer up to 480kW of DC fast charging via a single CCS2 nozzle. Meanwhile, the grey terminal is a boost charging dispenser equipped with two nozzles that can deliver up to 240kW of DC fast charging.
Although the hardware itself is capable of ultra high-power charging, what it can dispense in reality depends on the available power source in the area.

These chargers are already switched on as indicated by the animated flashing ring on each satellite terminal but it doesn’t appear to be open to the public just yet. The chargers themselves are still in its original stock form without any labels, stickers or card payment terminal attached. Even the cables are still wrapped in plastic.
Interestingly, the same Huawei FusionCharge Ultra-Fast charging solution was recently deployed at EV One station in Bangkok, Thailand.
The covered charging hub in Bangkok features a total of 8 bays consisting of 2x Ultra Fast liquid-cooled chargers with maximum power of 480kW (500A) and 6x Boost chargers capable of 240kW (300A).
As an introductory promo, these chargers at EV One station were priced at 7.5THB per kWh, which is equivalent to RM0.97 per kWh.
