Thunderstorm warning issued for eight states across Malaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong wind warning for multiple areas across eight states.

The warning remains in effect until 1 am on Monday, covering parts of Kedah, , Pahang, , Sarawak, Sabah, and throughout Penang and Perak.

Affected areas in Kedah include Yan, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu.

districts under warning are Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang.

Pahang areas affected include Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

districts covered are Sabak Bernam, Kuala and Hulu Selangor.

In Sarawak, the warning spans Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru and Marudi) and Limbang.

Sabah areas include Interior (Nabawan and Keningau) and Sandakan (Tongod).
