The education ministry said home-based teaching and learning will ensure students’ learning will not be disrupted due to the road closures and security controls to be implemented during the Asean summit.
PETALING JAYA:

A total of 102 schools in Kuala Lumpur and have been allowed to implement home-based teaching and learning, and follow work-from-home arrangements from Oct 23-29 in conjunction with the 47th Asean Summit.

The education ministry said the measure was being taken to ensure that students’ learning will not be disrupted due to the road closures and security controls to be implemented throughout the duration of the summit.

“The parents, guardians, students, teachers and school staff involved are advised to refer to their respective schools’ official communication channels for further information regarding the implementation of these measures,” it said in a statement.

The Asean Summit and related events will take place from Oct 26-28.

It is expected to be the largest and most high-profile gathering of world leaders ever hosted in the country, with several key world leaders expected to attend.

US president Donald is among the leaders expected to attend, along with Chinese president Xi Jinping and the heads of government from Asean member states and dialogue partner countries.
