KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 — Some 8.8 million Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) recipients will receive their final phase payments for this year starting tomorrow, the Finance Ministry announced today.
The Phase Four payments, initially slated for roll-out in mid-November, was brought forward due to Deepavali celebrations on October 20.
“For this phase, the government has allocated RM2 billion, with payment amounts of up to RM700, depending on the category,” the ministry said in a statement today.
The ministry added that the government has also approved 200,000 new applicants for Phase Four payments and the cash assistance will commence November 13.
“The number of STR recipients under Phase Four has increased by 500,000 individuals and households — up from 8.3 million — following the government’s decision to welcome new applications and appeals all year-round,” it stated.
The ministry also said applications for STR and SARA will remain open throughout 2026.
Current recipients need not worry, as their data will be automatically integrated into the government’s database, along with information from relevant agencies. This will streamline the eligibility checks for STR and SARA 2026.
