Police have confirmed that the deaths of a woman and her nephew at a house in Semenyih, Selangor, last month were caused by suffocation involving plastic bags.
Selangor deputy police chief Zaini Abu Hassan said this conclusion was based on the results of post-mortems conducted on both victims.
“The post-mortem at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang found that the cause of death was plastic bag suffocation,” Bernama reported him as saying at the Klang Selatan police headquarters today.
He said no arrests have been made so far, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Last Sunday, Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said a 53-year-old woman and her 25-year-old nephew were found dead in the living room of her house in Semenyih and were believed to have been dead for over a week.
He said the bodies were discovered after the woman’s brother reported a stench from the house, and that a post-mortem revealed they had been suffocated.
