THE police have 39 more welfare homes under GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (Gisbh) on their radar as the probe into the company over alleged child exploitation and abuse continues, reported the New Straits Times.
The Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain told the New Straits Times the homes are located all over Malaysia.
The country’s top cop did not rule out the possibility of further action by the police, following the raid on 20 GISBH-linked homes on Wednesday.
A total of 171 people were arrested in raids on welfare homes believed to be linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings.
Investigations have been launched into four men under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
Razarudin said the victims had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse including being sodomised.
He also said initial investigations revealed that caretakers also taught the children to sodomise other children.
GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd has since denied the allegations and any connection to the case.
The IGP said the series of raids over alleged child exploitation and abuse was the culmination of a six-month probe.
He said police have been probing the company since 2011 even before the recent allegations against GISBH went viral on social media.
He said six months ago, he met representatives from the Research Centre for Deviant Teachings (Pukas).
“They were the ones who passed us the initial information that facilitated the revisit of various police reports lodged against GISBH,” he told the New Straits Times. – September 14, 2024.
