Power supply to several areas in Klang Valley and Johor Bahru, which were affected by an outage, has been fully restored, according to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
In a Facebook post, TNB said the electricity supply to the affected areas had been fully restored at 5.54pm.
“TNB thanks all affected customers for their patience and apologises for the inconvenience caused by the disruption,” it said.
Earlier today, TNB said the power disruption was due to issues at the Edra power plant in Melaka.
It is understood that the power plant is operated by a subsidiary of Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd, an international independent power producer.
FMT had reported that several areas in the Klang Valley were hit by a power outage this evening.
According to netizens, the areas that experienced blackouts included Section 8 in Petaling Jaya, Universiti Malaya, Bukit Damansara, and Mont Kiara.
Other social media users on X said Mid Valley Megamall, Pavilion Damansara, and TRX were also affected.
Some netizens also claimed they experienced power outages in Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh, Kuantan and Sendayan.
