, Oct 15 — The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has urged the public to act responsibly and refrain from sharing, forwarding, or uploading any content, including photos or videos, showing the victim, other students, or the location related to the student stabbing incident at a secondary school in Bandar Utama.

In a statement today, MCMC advised those who have already uploaded such content to delete it immediately out of respect for the privacy and dignity of the victim’s family, and to avoid disrupting the ongoing police investigation.

The commission also extended its condolences to the family of the 16-year-old female student who died in the tragic incident.

MCMC reminded the public that legal action may be taken against individuals who distribute such content under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588).

In the 9.30am incident yesterday, a Form Four student died after she was believed to have been stabbed by a male student at the same school.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Ismail said the victim died at the scene, while the 14-year-old suspect, also a student at the school, has been detained. — Bernama
