U Mobile has introduced its new U Home 5G Borneo wireless broadband that’s exclusive to East Malaysia. Unlike the current U Home 5G that’s offered in Peninsular Malaysia, this new 5G home broadband plan is cheaper at RM58/month and it comes with unlimited data with no FUP.
Customers can also get a free Game-Grade 5G Router when they sign up for the U Home 5G Plan on contract.
To recap, U Mobile’s current U Home 5G offering is priced at RM68/month. Users can choose for a SIM-only plan or get the wireless 5G router bundle for free with a 24-month contrac.t
However, the normal U Home 5G plan has a monthly FUP quota of 1,000GB. If you need more, you’ll have to purchase a 1TB add-on for RM30.
With the new U Home 5G Borneo plan, the orange telco is promising unlimited data with uncapped speeds and no Fair Usage Policy (FUP). The plan is said to be capable of delivering reliable, fibre-like speeds to customers across Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. With the wireless 5G router, this broadband solution is said to be ideal for homeowners, renters, SME entrepreneurs and those who are always on-the-go.
The U Home 5G Borneo SIM + Router bundle is offered for RM58/month on a 24-month contract. If you have your own 5G router, you can opt for SIM-only without contract for RM58/month.
For greater value, U Mobile also offering a U Home 5G x Sooka Premium bundle for RM88/month. Users can also bundle a Samsung Smart TV which starts from RM64/month with U PayLater.
According to the FAQ, the U Home 5G Borneo plan is only available in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, and the SIM will not work in Peninsular Malaysia. This is a data-only plan and it doesn’t come with voice service. When it comes to speed, U Mobile says there’s no speed cap but they may manage speeds if there’s abuse or extremely high usage.
