KUALA LUMPUR: Wisma Putra is monitoring the nine Malaysian Freedom Flotilla Coalition volunteers who have been detained by Israeli authorities, says Datuk Fadzil.

He said Wisma Putra is ready to aid the nine from Humanitarian Care Malaysia through diplomatic channels via countries that have relations with Israel.

“We are waiting for reports, and if the Israeli side processes them as in previous cases, we should receive feedback by the time of tonight’s programme at Axiata Arena,” he said.

spoke after presenting appointment letters to the newly named members of the Bernama Supervisory Council and Board of Governors for a two year term at Wisma Bernama on Wednesday (Oct 8).

Earlier, all nine humanitarian aid vessels under the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens to Gaza were reportedly intercepted by the Israeli military near the red zone on Wednesday.

The Humanitarian Care Malaysia Control Centre said the flotilla was intercepted at 10.50am Malaysia time.

Eight Malaysian delegates are sailing on the vessel Conscience, with another delegate aboard the sailing boat Umm Saad.
