KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) — Budget 2026, to be tabled on Friday (Oct 10), will focus on critical projects to address issues related to floods, water supply and energy, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Fadillah, also the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, hopes that issues related to the cost of living will also be given special attention under the budget this time, considering the government strives to help the people during uncertain economic times.
“The focus this time (under Budget 2026) is more towards helping our people. Critical projects, flood issues, water supply and energy issues affecting everyone, as well as support for them,” he said.
He told reporters this after the launch of the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo 2025 (NICE 2025) at the World Trade Centre here today.
He also expects the government to continue to pay attention to education and health, which are usually important core aspects of every budget presentation.
