SEPANG, Oct 4 — The Selangor government will provide several forms of assistance as a sign of support to the Malaysian delegation participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission upon their return to the country, said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the assistance included the use of state government-owned hotels as preparation and transit centres for the Malaysian delegation, in addition to an allocation of RM1 million to the Malaysian International Humanitarian Centre (MIHC) to strengthen the centre’s role in carrying out humanitarian missions in Gaza and addressing domestic disasters.
Some of these contributions can be used immediately for their preparation upon arrival at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport),” he said at a press conference at the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) here last night.
“We want to ensure that the flotilla team receives a warm welcome and strong support, not only physically but also in terms of the quality of preparation and strategy.” — Bernama
