KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has revoked the operating licence of a lorry company involved in a fatal accident at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza on the SILK Highway last week, which left a baby dead and seven others injured.

In a statement today, APAD said investigations revealed that the company, LDT Metal Trading, had failed to install a Global Positioning System (GPS) device on its licensed commercial vehicle and neglected the safety of other road users.

“Following the findings, APAD has exercised its powers under Section 62 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010 to revoke the operator’s licence of LDT Metal Trading effective October 2, 2025.

“With this revocation, the company is prohibited from operating or providing services using vehicles previously licensed under it,” the agency said.

The accident, which occurred on September 27, involved a scrap-laden lorry and four other vehicles at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza.

APAD stressed that it will not compromise on dangerous driving offences involving public transport vehicles that may cause accidents and endanger road users.

It also reminded all licensed operators to comply strictly with licence conditions to avoid enforcement action, adding that the agency remains committed to developing a safe, efficient and competitive land public transport ecosystem in line with the Malaysia Madani values of wellbeing and compassion.
