PUTRAJAYA: The Road and Transport Department (JPJ) will intensify awareness on the use of child seats following a recent accident where a 16-month-old boy was killed.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke urged parents to ensure their child is seated in a child seat while in a vehicle.
He was responding to criticism over his comments on the accident at the Bukit Kajang toll plaza caused by brake failure on a lorry on Saturday (Sept 27).
Loke had said that the death could have been avoided if the boy was properly restrained in a child seat during the accident.
