Charge+ and XPeng team up to roll out EV superchargers across SEA, KL Eco City hub to feature 350kW DC Chargers

Charge+ has partnered with XPeng to rollout a regional network of ultra-fast EV supercharging hubs in the Southeast Asian region. The partnership targets to deploy at least 20 DC supercharging sites across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, capable of delivering up to 480kW of DC charging.

XPeng which has been pushing 800V EVs in its lineup, says its 5C supercharging battery technology is able to recharge from 10-80% in as little as 12 minutes with a peak charging rate of 451kW.

According to the press statement, Charge+ will have four supercharging sites in the first phase which include Royal Square Novena in Singapore, Downtown East in Singapore, KL Eco City in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and One Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand.

In Malaysia, the upcoming KL Eco City charging hub will feature 6x DC charging points capable of pushing up to 350kW, making it the fastest DC charger in the Kuala Lumpur city area. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur within a mixed-development area, its proximity makes it convenient for quick EV charging top ups.

Charge+’s 6x DC charging bays which are capable of delivering 200kW to 350kW are located at the open area in Level LL of KL Eco City. Take note that these chargers are still not live to the public yet.

In the second phase, Charge+ and XPeng intend to grow the supercharging network in existing countries such as Indonesia with deployment at high-traffic locations including commercial hubs, retail malls and highway rest stops across the region.

The partnership goes in line with Charge+ ongoing implementation of an EV charging highway spanning 5,000km across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. It aims to establish the longest EV charging backbone in the region.

Charge+ together with XPeng aims to enhance the charging experience for EV drivers by emphasising ultra-fast charging in high-traffic locations and facilitate seamless, cross border travelling for EV drivers.
