KAPIT: Two brothers have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of an entertainment centre DJ.
The victim, 33-year-old Patrick Alvin Jeffery, was stabbed to death outside a pub and karaoke in Jalan Tun Jugah at about 10.30pm on Thursday (Sept 18).
He managed to call for help before collapsing and was later taken to the Kapit Hospital Emergency Unit by the entertainment centre manager.
However, he was pronounced dead from serious injuries.
Kapit OCPD DSP Rohana Nanu said in a statement on Monday (September 22) night that a post-mortem at Sibu Hospital found the victim died from a stab wound to the chest that penetrated his heart.
“The investigation led to the arrest of two men, aged 30 and 36, in Tatau on Sept 19.
The two suspects are siblings, and one of them admitted to stabbing the victim with a sharp object, while the other was present at the scene during the incident,” she said.
She added that several items were also seized from the suspects to assist with further investigations.
The motive for the incident is believed to be a personal vendetta, and the case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Both suspects are currently remanded to assist with the investigation.
