DJI has officially launched the Mini 5 Pro in Malaysia, and is now available through authorised distributors both online and in physical stores. Prices start at RM2,991 for the drone alone, while bundle options with remote controllers and extra accessories go up to RM4,899.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor, featuring a 50MP camera paired with a larger 1-inch sensor, compared to the 1/1.3-inch sensor used previously. This high-resolution setup offers a 24mm f/1.8 lens for wide-angle shots and a 48mm Med-Tele mode for more focused compositions.

DJI says the new sensor delivers up to 14 stops of dynamic range and supports 10-bit D-Log M recording. For video, the Mini 5 Pro handles 4K HDR recording at 60fps, as well as slow-motion capture at up to 4K 120fps. The camera gimbal can also rotate up to 225 degrees, enabling creative angles, true portrait shooting, and support for modes such as QuickShot, Timelapse, Spotlight, and Waypoint Flight.

Safety-wise, the drone combines omnidirectional obstacle sensors with forward-facing LiDAR and a 3D infrared sensor to improve collision avoidance, especially in low-light conditions. Additionally, its dual-band (L1+L5) GNSS allows the drone to remember and retrace its flight path even if it loses GPS signal mid-flight.

Battery life has been improved thanks to a larger 2,788mAh battery, offering up to 36 minutes of flight time compared to the Mini 4 Pro’s 34 minutes. Users can also opt for the higher-capacity 4,680mAh Flight Battery Plus, which extends flight time to 52 minutes and boosts maximum flight distance to 32km. The drone’s maximum speed has also increased, reaching 18m/s (65km/h) with the standard battery and doubling its ascent rate to 10m/s.

Other enhancements include the DJI O4+ video transmission system, which now supports a range of up to 20km. The Mini 5 Pro also benefits from the upgraded ActiveTrack 360-degree feature, which introduces new modes such as cycling, while optimised portrait mode takes advantage of the larger sensor for sharper subject tracking.
