KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 (Bernama) — Malaysian companies have secured RM205.83 million in sales at the INDEX Saudi Arabia 2025 held recently, surpassing the RM200 million target.
In a statement today, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) said RM14.6 million was immediate sales and RM191.2 million was potential sales.
The delegation also received 721 trade inquiries, signalling robust interest in Malaysian furniture, it said.
“This remarkable achievement is a key victory in the industry’s ongoing efforts to diversify its export markets and reduce its reliance on traditional regions.
“The timing is particularly strategic, allowing Malaysian companies to capitalise on the dynamic economic growth of Saudi Arabia, fuelled by ambitious initiatives like Saudi Vision 2030 and preparations for the 2034 FIFA World Cup,” it said.
The Malaysia Pavilion at INDEX Saudi Arabia 2025 from Sept 9-11 showcased 14 companies, with six exhibiting directly under MATRADE.
Key partners include Malaysian Timber Industry Board subsidiary CTCS Worldwide Sdn Bhd and Manufacturer and Designer Association (MEDA), which highlighted products from an additional eight companies.
MATRADE said furniture exports to Saudi Arabia reached RM119.7 million in the first seven months of this year, a 16.6 per cent increase from a year ago.
The positive outcome from INDEX Saudi Arabia 2025 signalled a clear indicator of the market’s vast and untapped potential, it added.
