Shamsul Iskandar urges party unity ahead of Melaka polls next year

MELAKA: Melaka State Leadership Council (MPN) chairman Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin has called on all members to strengthen unity in preparation for the State Election (PRN), expected to be held next year.

He said division and factionalism would only weaken the party in gaining support and securing victory in the upcoming polls.

“After the party elections, we must bring everyone’s hearts back together. Raising past disputes or minor issues after the elections are over will only weaken the party’s strength, whereas the real focus should be on the common struggle,” he said.

Shamsul Iskandar was speaking to reporters after attending the Sambutan 27 Tahun Reformasi event organised by MPN Melaka, which was attended by more than 200 members and leaders here last night.

The Melaka State Legislative Assembly will expire in December next year. — BERNAMA
