Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed that a police report was made against a TikTok account for using the likeness of the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, for scam purposes.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the Selangor Royal Office said that a report was lodged after it was discovered that a TikTok account was using artificial intelligence to manipulate and misuse an image of Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
It added that the account was using the AI video for the purpose of deceiving social media users.
“The public is advised to remain vigilant over the emergence of such accounts on social media. Always verify information to avoid being duped by scammers and irresponsible parties, and report suspicious accounts immediately,” the statement said.
